No sooner does Verizon post its own commercial celebrating the imminent arrival of the iPhone 4 on their network than Apple plays the great equalizer, releasing a spot which makes it all about the handset and not the carrier.
MacRumors is reporting that Apple has started airing a new iPhone 4 television commercial, as seen in the embedded YouTube video below. After showing a series of companion iPhone 4 handsets doing the same tasks, the AT&T and Verizon logos are shown, followed by the words “Two is better than one.”
The clever ad appears to be Apple’s way of showing that, regardless of which carrier you choose, you’ll get the same great experience with the iPhone 4 -- that is, unless you want to actually keep a call connected in a major city (which AT&T notoriously seems to have problems with), or maybe use your data connection while talking on the device (a technical limitation of Verizon’s network).
In any event, it’s good to see the carriers play nice together, even if it takes Apple to bring them together.
