In case you missed it Sunday night, CBS News has now posted the full Steve Jobs profile with official biographer Walter Isaacson for online viewing -- and if that’s not enough, Apple has posted an 80-minute video from the company’s own private tribute to the man for all to see.
With the official Steve Jobs biography now in stores less than three weeks after his death, the words are being bookended with some must-see video from both Apple and CBS News staple 60 Minutes, available to watch from any web browser.
First up is a two-part interview with official Steve Jobs biographer Walter Isaacson on 60 Minutes, which aired on Sunday night. The piece gave a quick sketch of what Isaacson’s 656-page book is sure to cover in much more detail, complete with several key audio segments from the author’s more than 40 interviews with Jobs which make up a bulk of the book. (Embedded video below.)
Isaacson’s 60 Minutes interview was made available for online viewing from the CBS News website shortly after airing in two parts, with a couple of outtakes from the 60 Minutes Overtime series where Jobs speaks candidly about competitors Microsoft and Google (including praise for Facebook) as well as showing a peek into his family life as well.
Finally, Apple has posted a Quicktime video of an 80-minute tribute entitled “Celebrating Steve,” which was recorded on October 19 at the company’s private memorial service on the Cupertino campus and also beamed to Apple retail stores simultaneously.
Between these videos and Monday’s release of the official biography, Steve Jobs fans and scholars will have plenty to absorb in the coming days.
