Apple's marketing department knows exactly how to show off the iPhone 5 features people will most care about, such as Shared Photo Streams in the company's latest Thanksgiving-themed commercial.
Apple has posted two new television commercials to its YouTube account and website, one of which is perfectly timed for the U.S. holiday weekend kicking off on Thursday.
"Thanksgiving" shows off the new Shared Photo Streams feature of iOS 6, which Apple calls the start of "picture-taking season." The faceless user in the commercial creates a Thanksgiving Photo Stream with just a few taps, and effortlessly shares it with a few loved ones.
"It's as easy as pie," the narrator says. "Hmmm…. pie." And naturally, that comment is perfectly timed to the image of a homemade pie.
A second spot called "Orchestra" puts the focus on the iPhone 5's noise-canceling microphone, utilizing the exact same music from the Thanksgiving spot, this time showing a small orchestra with the conductor demonstrating how background noise is magically turned down while speaking on the handset.
The narration on both commercials sounds an awful lot like actor Jeff Daniels, whose most recent work includes The Newsroom for showrunner Aaron Sorkin, the man who's writing the feature film script based on the bestselling official Steve Jobs bio.
