If you haven’t gotten enough of Star Wars on your iDevice (or really, life in general), there’s yet another game based on the sci-fi movies winging its way to the App Store next week.
touchArcade is reporting that a new Star Wars game is coming, this time based on one of the key set pieces from the original second chapter, The Empire Strikes Back. The game is called Star Wars: The Battle of Hoth, scheduled for release on July 15 for a mere $2.99.
As you probably already know if you’re even a modest Star Wars fan, Hoth is the snow planet where the first act of The Empire Strikes Back takes place and based on the YouTube video embedded below, the new game appears to be faithful to the big battle scene from the film, complete with Empire-driven AT-AT Walkers, TIE Fighters and Rebel Snowspeeders.
“Gameplay looks fairly standard for a tower defense game,” touchArcade writes after previewing The Battle of Hoth, “and aside from all kinds of Star Wars units, it also sports some cut scenes from the movie. Needless to say, as a huge closet Star Wars nerd, I cannot wait for this game to get released.”
July 15 is right around the corner, so the wait for Star Wars: The Battle of Hoth will be a short one. Get your $2.99 ready now!
