iOS 4 brought with it the awesome Folders feature, helping iPhone and iPod touch users everywhere to cram even more apps onto their device, yet make them easier to find at the same time. Unfortunately, the feature also has an artificial limit of 12 apps per Folder -- that is, unless you have a jailbroken device and $1.99 to spend. 9to5Mac is reporting that Chpwn, the developer of such jailbreak-only delights as ProSwitcher and Infinidock, is back in action again with Infinifolders. The $1.99 jailbreak-only app is available via Cydia, and allows users to store more than 12 apps in a single iOS 4 Folder.
So how many can you store? Apparently an unlimited amount, although at a certain point, Folders probably become less useful if you have to spend so much time scrolling through one to find what you’re looking for.
We’re guessing that someday soon, Apple will probably allow more than 12 apps per Folder, but in the meantime, this is a great solution for anyone who finds that “dirty dozen” too constraining. Head over to Cydia and grab it today!
