With the newly announced (but not yet released to the public) version of iOS, the iPhone 3G bugs have mostly been squashed. Apple made a point in saying that this forthcoming update (iOS 4.1) would alleviate some of the problems iPhone 3G owners had when first upgrading to iOS 4.0 a few months ago.
In a video posted at Lifehacker, Adam Dachis gets his hands on a developer gold master copy of iOS 4.1 and shows how the new version compares to the older iOS 4.0 on the iPhone 3G. While the results are not completely astonishing, the update does seem to make the device and Apple-supplied applications run faster.
Here are some of the results from the speed test comparison:
We're sure that the iOS 4.1 update cannot come fast enough for iPhone 3G owners everywhere.
You can see the side-by-side video comparison below, and you can read more information about the test on the Lifehacker website. Even if you're not an iPhone 3G owner, the sound effects and music should be enough to keep you highly entertained.
