Acceleroto’s Air Hockey for iOS has been around since the doors first opened on the App Store, so it’s no surprise that the company is preparing to duplicate the success of their popular app by making it available in the Mac App Store as well. Here’s a peek.
9to5Mac scored an advance preview of Acceleroto’s Air Hockey game for the Mac App Store, which the website claims is “nearly identical to the iOS version and will be available at launch.” Air Hockey has been a popular staple on the touchscreen iOS platform, despite a number of copycat apps that have appeared in its wake.
“The graphics and animations are super-smooth and everything just flows,” reports 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman. “The game and its contents load very fast, both on an iMac and a MacBook Air, and the user interface is just fantastic. The game opens up in a single window and does not have a full screen option at this time,” although they note that a fullscreen version is “in the works.”
If you love Air Hockey on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, it looks like you’ll want to warm up your iTunes account to buy the Mac version as well when the Mac App Store swings open its doors on January 6. In the meantime, have a look at 9to5Mac’s preview video in action to whet your appetite!
