Many of the leaks we've seen over the last few months have featured the iPhone, but today iPad fans get their treat. As reported by TechCrunch, Unbox Therapy managed to get their hands on an alleged case for the iPad 5. If it's really an iPad 5 case, it looks as though it borrows heavily from the lessons learned from the iPad mini, as predicted by previous leaks.
The case is noticeably smaller and thinner than the previous iPad models the hosts place beside it, particularly since the design takes a full 15mm off the surrounding bevel, leaving the 9.7-inch screen the same size as before. What's more, the device also appears thinner in depth, resulting in a device that should be easier to carry.
As TechCrunch notes, this small size could help attract the many iPad 2 users who've been unwilling to upgrade to one of the newer devices, particularly since the Retina displays for the newer iPads actually increased their sizes.
The video, which lasts around three minutes, reveals a few other small bits of info as well, such as dual speaker pads on the bottom and a more sharply defined slope to the device's edges. Keep in mind, though, that the video only shows a shell; any question about what the device is like when it's actually running remains open to conjecture.
If existing predictions hold true, we should see the actual device sometime this fall.
