You gotta hand it to those resourceful folks in Taiwan: With only a weekend, they’ve created their own version of how Apple’s iPhone 4 “Antennagate” has gone down, complete with a recap of the Friday press conference. This may very well be the best thing you’re likely to see all week!
Cult of Mac is reporting on Taiwanese NMA News, who has put together a pretty wild YouTube video (first noted by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber) showing their version of the events surrounding Apple’s latest iPhone 4. The most amazing thing is the inclusion of a recap from Friday’s “Antennagate” press conference, despite the news outlet having only a two-day weekend to do so!
In the video, Apple is seen as peddling what amounts to garbage with the new iPhone 4, with CEO Steve Jobs appearing as “the Sith of the Mobile Universe,” complete with a visible Reality Distortion Field which appears to be a manifestation of The Force itself (yes, this is a Star Wars parody).
The video includes some controversial iPhone 4-related events, including the police breaking into Gizmodo editor Jason Chen’s home with a search warrant and Steve Jobs himself giving a pep talk to the factory workers in Shenzhen, China -- even as some of them are leaping to their death outside the window behind him. (Ouch!)
The parody video also shows us the most extreme solution yet to the iPhone 4 “death grip” problem -- just slice off your two bottom fingers and, problem solved. May The Force be with you!
....talk about a stretch. I notice they left out the part where he let people return it, gave out free cases, and even said we care about our customers.
