Viv Magazine Shows iPad New Media Possibilities

So we keep reading about how the iPad is going to change the way we read books and magazines, and maybe you don’t believe what you read. Well, how about seeing a glimpse of the future with your own eyes?
9to5Mac is reporting that the folks behind Viv Mag have released a few demos showing how a future version of their interactive magazine might look on the iPad:
Photographer Alexx Henry, along with co-directors Cory Strassburger and Ming Hsiung have produced an amazing motion magazine cover and feature spread for Viv Mag, an all digital magazine. The interactive article uses video, sound and print in a remarkable way that really makes you think about the amazing possibilities available in this emerging world of “digital print.”
Viv’s demo, an article on “Sex Fears,” features a stylish video modeled after the graphic novel and feature film Sin City. Even the magazine’s cover is interactive! Click the links below to see for yourself, and even get a peek at how the spots were created with a behind-the-scenes featurette.

iPad is a great product from Apple and its an example of advanced technology used by Apple, although competition between the two giants (Google and Apple) is on fire and even there is personal arguments between two CEOs. Lets see how Google will counter this product of Apple. Thanks cigarette electronique

With all those creation and productions from Apple, we are lucky enough to experience many things we haven't even thought of achieving. We must be thankful to Apple about that.

Ipad is equipped with lots of state-of-the-art facilities and features. At the same time it lacks some basic ones too. But it is a real fine product in deed.

iPad is trying to change the way information is presented and watched over internet, but these videos contain excessive use of Flash. Don't abuse Flash like using it so much this will bring only imagination and no reality. I think reality is an important factor in videos created. Thanks Creek County District Court

This is beautifully, brilliantly done, but the problem, as I see it, is that all this production and animation is gratuitous, in that it doesn't serve to make the information clearer, and it interferes with the reading. It reminds me of the misuse of Flash on the web (I like Flash and don't misuse it). Will someone reading an article for information want everything moving around like this?
It will be interesting to see how this all develops over the next several years. At the least, these people deserve credit for doing something innovative and truly well. It's graphically astounding to watch, and very pleasing aesthetically.
