In case you didn't notice, it was awfully hard to buy an iPhone 5s over the weekend, and the handset has a lengthy, unspecified wait of sometime in October for all colors, carriers and capacities.
Apple's online store had a whirlwind weekend with the iPhone 5s, beginning at 12:01 a.m. PT Friday, when the virtual doors swung wide open to users eager to click their way into an order.
Unfortunately, those buyers found no option to order online and pick up in the store, instead being greeted by a one- to three-business-day shipment date that quickly changed to seven to 10 days within minutes. By the end of the day Friday, the "available to ship" estimate for all colors, capacities and carriers was simply "October."
But there may be some hope: MacRumors reported Monday that Apple.com has now added the Personal Pickup option to online iPhone 5s orders, allowing customers the option to buy from the website and pick up the device in-store.
While the Personal Pickup is a welcome addition, we had zero luck finding any local stores where the iPhone 5s was available for pickup today, but those in bigger cities are likely to have better luck with this option.
