Ok, so maybe Woz wasn't trolling around on CL for a job, but the co-founder of Apple was propositioned by Fusion-io to come out of retirement and join their ranks as Chief Scientist. The Woz is seen as one of Silicon Valley's most creative engineer. He showed a tremendous knack for clean computer design and this caught the eye of the folks over at Fusion-io.
The three-year-old Salt Lake City based company announced Woz's newly found employment on Thursday. Woz has already played a vital role on Fusion-io's advisory board, so this transition into his new positions should be like any other Segway day, “I have a pretty quiet life, and I like to watch technology evolve,” said Woz in an interview.
Woz has gone on to express his support for Steve Jobs, and said he would consider joining Apple's board if he were asked to. “I have thought about that in recent years, but it’s not on my mind at all right now,” he said. “I think I have a better place at smaller companies looking at new ideas.”
We here at Mac|Life wish Woz all the best, and can't wait to see photos of him starting up a Segway Polo League in Salt Lake City.
