Apple fanboys, get your tissues (virtual or real) ready: The Woz has come out of the Google closet.
Apple co-found Steve Wozniak,
infamous for cutting in line more than once to nab an iPhone on launch day, is cheating on his former employer. That’s the
breaking news from NBC Bay Area, who is reporting that Woz has -- shockingly! -- traded in his iPhones for Google’s Nexus One.
Everyone knows that Apple has made Wozniak a millionaire, and he hasn’t been shy about his love for the products his former employer continues to put out. But we’re guessing that his old garage mate Steve Jobs would be none too excited to hear this latest development, especially after Woz has gone public with criticism of the iPhone in the past.
The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant made the confession on an educational program last week, where he admitted to being one of the first in (virtual) line to hit Google’s new online store to nab a Nexus One.
According to NBC, “Wozniak made the shocking revelation with a coy laugh and without taking the name of the thorn in Jobs’ side.”
It sounds like somebody didn’t get the memo that Apple and Google are rattling sabers as of late. If you hear the thundering sound of weeping tonight, it’s probably just fanboys everywhere holding a candlelight vigil for Wozniak’s now-dead Apple fandom… or maybe Woz himself after finding out his number has been deleted from Steve Jobs’ speed dial list.
