Reports from the Cupertino trenches are great. Some alleged Apple employee sends a sketchy email to a site or makes a muffled call in the middle of the night to a sleepy journalist.
Those reports are all fine and dandy, but what the people really want are pictures. Burry, out-of-focus, low-light pictures taken by someone with the photo-taking skills of a two-year old.
Well kids, we grabbed the latest spy pics and gathered them together for your amusement.
BoyGeniusReport came across this image from Canadian mobile carrier Fido the other day. It's dark, off center and promises a low price iPhone with a video calling. What's not to like?!? Well, besides the fact that the person doesn't know how to take a screengrab.
AppleInsider got their own foreign carrier screen shot from Carphone Warehouse. Their numerous sources state that there are four placeholders in the mobile retailer's database. Some of those placeholders are 32GB. NiCE! It's also nice to know that monochrome screens are still being utilized instead of being tossed in landfills. Go Green!
If you live in Taiwan, and you have friends that work at the iPhone building plant, you can get an unreleased iPhone. That's what we learned from a series of incredible blurry photos posted this past weekend. The photos show the new, marginally-exciting, Compass feature, a landscape keyboard, and MMS with a photo or video option. Most of the photos make us scream, "Hey buddy, why didn't you use the screen capture feature?" Check out the whole series here.
TUAW got a mysterious image of the AT&T support site with a drop down menu that shows "iPhone Video" under the Original iPhone and iPhone 3G. Could AT&T have leaked the new iPhone name then quickly removed the mistake? Could the tipster have used screengrab instead of a picture taken in a dark cave? Both of these mysteries may never be solved.
Gizmodo got some truly crappy spy photos the other day that they immediatly called shenanigans on. Like the rest of the internet, Jesus Diaz is tired of blurry photos of unreleased products. In fact, he's brandishing an iron bar for crap pics. We're not sure what he's gonna do with that bar, but we're pretty sure it's not to gonna be used to bestow a knighthood on the creator of the next series of horrible images.
UPDATED with user sent images.
Twitter user, plsdontsueme tipped us to these iPhone 3gen backs that can be purchased. Build a new iPhone before it's available to the public. WOW, the convenience. Where did they get the specs for these cases, and why are they selling them now? We don't know or care, we've got our credit cards out and we're ready to throw away our money.
Got a sweet spy pic? Drop a link to it in the comments below and we'll add it to the lineup.
