There's still no official native iPad version, but the folks at Yahoo! today unveiled a significant update to the Flickr iPhone app, which takes direct aim at Instagram with tons of new filters and gives away pro editing features.
Yahoo! announced an update to its official Flickr for iPhone app on Thursday, bringing the version number to a tongue-twisting 2.20.1134. While we can't believe the app still isn't native for the iPad, mobile photographers will surely love the goodies included this time around.
First and foremost is a brand new set of filters, including live filters that allow users to snap photos without the need to process them afterward. Should you want to do so, Flicker for iOS now allows customization of the included filters so users can get exactly the look they seek.
The iPhone app also gains a number of new superpowers, including professional editing tools that previously required a separate purchase. Users can now enhance, crop, sharpen, adjust color and more without paying a dime, and in-camera tools such as grids, pinch to zoom and focus or exposure lock make getting the right shot a breeze.
Flickr for iPhone 2.20.1134 is now available from the App Store and requires iOS 5.1 or later; as a reminder, the service now gives all users 1TB of storage, so we can probably forgive the absence of an iPad app -- at least for now.
