You'd think with a name like YouSendIt, it would be clear what the company does -- but apparently the powers that be felt differently and have announced plans to change the name to Hightail instead.
YouSendIt has announced a name change to Hightail this week, with a brand new look on the way and more ambitious plans for digital sharing that simply just sending files to and from the cloud.
"Hightail is a new identity that represents the current breadth of our services, as well as everything we aspire to become," the company confirmed in a blog post on Wednesday. "It also marks the fundamental changes that have happened at our company.
"We’ve got big plans to truly transform the world of digital sharing with ideas so exciting and innovative they needed a brand to match," CEO Brad Garlinghouse added.
While the newly rebranded entity isn't quite spilling the beans on what's to come, Garlinghouse made it clear that Hightail's core product offering remains the same: "An easy and secure way to access and share files and folders on any device, anywhere, while fitting in with how you already work and giving you complete control of your valuable information."
The cloud storage company formerly known as YouSendIt offers plans starting at absolutely free for 2GB storage (for up to 50MB file sizes), with customized plans for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
