Newt-Phone
Posted 10/02/2007 at 3:08:19pm | by Roberto Baldwin

Newton owner and my new personal hero, Marcus Hammerschmitt, hooked up a Nokia Card Phone to his Newton 2100, tossed in a SIM card and was making calls like there's no tomorrow.

All the parts to transform his Newton from PDA to phone, set him back about $48. A Newton will set you back about $150 on eBay. A German iPhone will cost about $565. So Marcus saved approximately $367!

The best part, he doesn't have to worry about the dreaded Apple update. Shine on you crazy diamond.

avatarThe NewtPhone rocks indeed, but ...

... please keep in mind the Nokia Card Phone 2.0 is a phone designed to comply with European dual band standards (GSM 900 and 1800) and will, to my knowledge, not work in the Americas.

Best,

Marcus
