Lightroom not so snappy

Just a counterpoint to your reviewer's characterization of Lightroom as "responsive" and "fast": Maybe it is, in the sort of light-duty use a reviewer might give it.

But once your library gets up to 20,000 or so raw files (not an unusual number by professional or serious-amateur standards) Lightroom becomes noticeably sluggish -- just opening the application takes a couple of minutes, and if you've moved any files from one volume to another, operations crawl while it tries to locate them.

Sure, state-of-the-art Mac hardware would help -- but that negates one of Lightroom's claimed advantages over Aperture. (At least Apple is upfront in restricting Aperture to machines on which it can give decent performance.)

Personally, I'm stuck with Lightroom: I do a lot of shooting with an Epson R-D 1 camera, a model which Aperture doesn't support, so Lightroom is my only option for comprehensive raw-file management. But its performance in day-to-day use is certainly nothing to celebrate.

Meanwhile a young woman who was burned washes up on shore. Meant to look like part of of the explosion, the body arrives at its location too soon, which leads the agents to believe her death is related to the explosion. As they use the new technology to study the woman, the ATF agent determines that this is not satellite imagery but somehow is using a time warp. From this point in the film, the movie moves from a crime film to a sci-fi time paradox film. Nonetheless, the action is non-stop and always captivating. The end of the film may be confusing to some people, but it is all laid out if one cares to look carefully. Contains some extreme violence that some may find disturbing, particularly during the explosion when many people are shown jumping off the boat in flames.
