Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List offers a fantastic collection of recipes from Epicurious.com. On the iPad, the app serves up brilliant photography, and an interactive, cookbook-style layout that has us convinced we’re going to end up with olive oil and tomato sauce all over our brand-new iPad.

Search is easy and quick, if you have some ingredients on-hand and just need a little bit of inspiration. On the other hand, there’s also a Featured section that offers rotating categories filled with suggestions like Weekend Brunch, Quick & Easy, or even Spring Cocktails (our favorite).
The recipes are well-presented. We particularly like the landscape orientation, which offers ingredients on the left side, and the recipe’s steps on the right. There’s even a sliding bookmark to keep your place in the text, which is handy when switching your attention back and forth between pots on the stove and your iPad.
Epicurious offers an email feature, for sending copies of your favorite recipes, and you can even create shopping lists from multiple recipes. From there, you can check items off on your device, or email yourself a master shopping list, helpfully organized by grocery store aisle.
Excellent recipes at your fingertips, what’s not to like? But be careful not to drip anything on your iPad.

Easy searching. Tons of great new ideas.
Having our iPad in the kitchen still makes us a bit nervous. Limited options for font size. The photography is beautiful, but we wish it were bigger in many cases.
