Foldify brings papercraft figure creation to the iPad, and while the idea is simple, the way it's implemented makes this app truly great. Choosing from 10 available shapes, you'll then see the editable cutout section on the right and a 3D representation on the left. As you decorate the shape, the 3D model is updated in real time, making it easy to see how your creation will look once complete.
As expected, painting is done with your fingers. Since the size of your digits doesn’t change, you can create finer or broader strokes by zooming in or out of the cutout respectively. Although the eraser tool works in the same way, its stroke feels too small, even when fully zoomed out, making erasing mistakes a little tedious at times. However, there is a multiple undo feature if the mistake is a recent one.
You can choose any color you wish from the color palette and save any shade you like, but you can’t copy a color that’s already on your model; so if you didn’t save that color and wish to use it again, you may have a problem getting the exact one back. If you’re not a great artist, don’t worry: you have access to a large clip art section which offers dozens of ready-made shapes, with more available through the in-app store (some are free).
Once your work is completed, you can print it out using AirPrint or by saving it as a PDF and emailing it, then cut it out and fold away; or you can upload your work online and share it with the growing Foldify community, where you can also rate and print other people’s creations.
The bottom line. You don’t need to be a designer to have fun with Foldify. It's simple enough that you need not worry about layers or other complex constructs; just choose a color and start decorating. With more shapes and clip art incoming, it should keep you and the younger ones in your life busy for as long as your collective creativity allows.

Simple interface with minimal learning curve. Zoom in and rotate cutout at will for precise work. Can share work with online community and print others' creations. More content promised down the line.
Eraser tool not big enough to remove large mistakes with ease. Can't select a color from your model. Using clip art not as intuitive as it initially seems.
