Hex Solo Wallet for iPhone 5 Review

Hex makes some really cool bags and cases, but the Solo Wallet is a bit underwhelming. Its plastic core snaps around your iPhone 5, and pebbly-textured leather is wrapped around that. But the leather wrap kind of bunches a little bit at the corners, and it's missing the expensive feel we got from the iLuv's Diary and Uniea's Soft Suit Folio. Two card slots grace the back of the case, but they're just slits cut into the leather -- we had to pry them open with a fingernail enough to shove a card in, but only the first time. The slots loosened up a bit with more frequent use.

The bottom line.
The bottom is open enough to accomodate Apple's Lightning-to-30-pin adapter, and the textured leather is easy to grip. But the messy corners and cheap-feeling rear slots detract from the overall luxury of the case.

No visible logos. Beautiful colors. Leather feels great. Good price for such a nice case.

Bottom straps make it tough to use the Lightning-to-30-pin adapter with the case on.
