AAA Raingutters doesn’t strike us as a likely name for a car-rental business, but at least iWant’s café finds steered us right!
Driving around aimlessly looking for a gas station in an unfamiliar town is a waste of time. iWant offers a solution. iWant was one of the first free apps that appeared in the App Store, and, considering its price tag, it does an excellent job tapping into the iPhone 3G’s GPS unit to locate you, then display nearby restaurants, stores, gas stations, banks, and movie theaters. While occasional oddball results appear, and the settings are the barest of bones, we look forward to seeing improvements with future updates
Want is a fast, convenient way to find nearby stores, restaurants, and other services using the iPhone 3G’s GPS unit. Occasional misfires sometimes mar the results, but they are usually spot-on, and just as reliable as asking locals.
