With so many life-logging apps out there, it may be difficult to find the right one for you. OptimizeMe doesn’t just keep a log of your daily activities — it also tells you how to improve them and how each one affects one another. If you don’t mind manually inputting all of your data, OptimizeMe is true to its name and can help you optimize your life.
OptimizeMe organizes your activities into four separate categories: health, creativity, routine, and pleasure. From daily routines (like going to work or taking a shower) to pleasurable activities (including watching TV and even sex), the app lets you record everything you do. You can even add random tasks if they’re not listed, and include people you performed them with, letting you personalize the logs even further.
Unfortunately, the app doesn’t track physical activity on its own. You’ll need to download and sync data from the paid Moves app for more accurate readings, or to track your step and calorie count for the day. Activities can also be tracked using a timer, but if you like to multitask, you’ll need to manually input things you did yourself since the app cannot time multiple tasks at once.
Each activity also lets you select your mood, and while this may sound silly and superficial, it can actually lead to an insightful analysis of your day. OptimizeMe takes all of your recordings and correlates them with one another. This makes it easy, for instance, to see how sleeping an average of six hours a day can negatively affect the amount of time you spent at the gym, or tie into feeling glum during work. You can compare every activity to one another, and if you’re accurate in how you log them, the app can shine a light on how to improve your productivity and mood throughout the week.
An optional personal assistant named Ari — essentially a screen that delivers a more stylized look at your data — is also on hand to give you timely reminders and show changes in your day. And if you want even more of an analysis of your trends throughout the week, OptimizeMe even displays them all in elegant pie, line, and bar graphs.
The bottom line. You may need to remember to log every activity yourself, but OptimizeMe gives you valuable tools to feel better and do more each day.
