PocketMoney is probably one of the few apps to boast origins on the Apple Newton, but this digital dollar tracker is a useful pick for those looking to stay on top of their budgets and expenses on the go.
Unlike automated services like Mint.com that automatically track transactions, PocketMoney is a strictly manual affair, meaning you'll need to plug in your accounts and keep up with deposits and withdrawals, as well as other fees and expenses. Think of it as a smart notebook -- PocketMoney can store thousands of transactions, lets you transfer funds between stored accounts, and can be customized with dozens of included icons to differentiate various accounts and expenses.

PocketMoney lets you manually keep up with your accounts and expenses.
Plus, the budgeting feature makes it easy to set limits for each month and keep track of how you match up, and you can import and export files with Quicken or MS Money on your computer to stay up on expenses between devices.

It's very easy to set budgets and track the results.
We're a little perplexed as to why simple features like setting themes and storing photo receipts require extra in-app purchases, but aside from that gaffe, PocketMoney is a solid and straightforward way for diligent iPad users to monitor their monetary situations.
PocketMoney is a useful pick for those looking to stay on top of their budgets and expenses on the go.
