Quordy

Quordy is a Boggle-like word game that gives players three minutes to create as many words as possible out of adjacent letters. The longer the word, the higher the score. But before you play, you first have to scramble the digital tiles by giving your iPhone a shake, like a word-nerd James Bond making a vodka martini.
We happen to be easily amused, but even sourpusses would crack a smile at Quordy.
Gameplay is equally entertaining. We’ve played other Boggle-clones on the Treo, but the touch interface makes the iPhone version more fun. Rather than tap the correct letter sequence with a stylus, you can drag a finger across the tiles to form words with a single stroke.
You can play Quordy with friends, either by passing your iPhone/iPod touch back and forth in "Pass and Play" mode, or--as an unexpected bonus for a game of this style--online, for which you’ll need to set up an account (Quordy guides you through the process).
Quordy also gets the little details right: You can pause with a touch of a button. The game buzzes to warn you that you have 10 seconds to make that great seven-letter play. And after you’ve finished, it presents you with two lists, the words you created and the words that you weren’t clever or quick enough to find.
What’s not to like about Quordy? A few things, actually.
The list of words we didn’t find were numerous, not to mention obscure (like “edh,” “bhoot,” “yodh,” and “toyo”). Unless you’re a Scrabble addict or a former spelling bee champion with lightning-fast fingers, you won’t triumph any more than we did.
Also, scoring is too simplistic. Although Quordy remembers your high score, it doesn’t track your overall percentage, so you can’t tell if you’re improving or not.
But now that we know “ags,” “fas,” and “fug,” are words, we expect to shake up our score.
Quordy takes a classic game (Bogggle) and makes it better with the iPhone interface.
