The KickBack is a clear plastic case with a lot of awesome little details. You've got eight rubber pads, four on the front and four on the back. These pads go clear through the case to both act as a cushion between your iPhone and the plastic, and as traction between your case and the table. Scosche even includes three sets of pads -- black, pink, and clear -- so you can customize the look a little.

Even better, the case comes with two back panels. One is smooth. The other has a hinged kickstand that lets you prop your iPhone up on a table in landscape orientation, perfect for watching videos on the pretty wide screen. It worked beautifully. All the functions are accessible through the case, and the dock opening is wide enough to let you dock the phone with the case on.

On the difficulty-of-removal scale, the Scosche scores a 7 out of 10, meaning it's tricky to get off the phone -- its six plastic tabs keep it locked up tight. The trick: After you pop a couple tabs with your fingernails, don't try to pry the two pieces of the case straight apart. Instead, sort of push them in opposite directions, one toward the iPhone and one away, almost like a little twist. It gets easier after you've done it a few times.
