Toshiba 400GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive

Toshiba is a well-known brand in the laptop hard-drive business, having been used in Macs for many years as stock drives shipped by Apple.

The Toshiba 400GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive we tested is the most capacious external USB drive in Toshiba’s product line, but we found it unremarkable. It was the slowest performer in its category, its capacity sits right between the 320GB and 500GB offerings, and there was nothing about it that really stood out. While it is less expensive than some of the other drives in its category, other drives offer better value for Mac users.

THE BOTTOM LINE

COMPANY: Toshiba
CONTACT: www.toshiba.com
PRICE: $179.99
REQUIREMENTS: USB port
Toshiba is a trusted name in hard drives.
Poor performance.

great design and compatibility with my mac. it suddenly failed after 7 months. luckily, i was able to recover my files however i can no longer trust this product.
Progiftstore.comit suddenly died in just 7 months without any reason at all. it was never dropped nor exposed t any heat and humidity. i can no longer trust this product and therefore wouldn't recommend at all. it's cheaper compared to others however i don't think it would be practical if it fails sooner than expected.
