Trainer for iPhone 5 Review

Your iPhone, with its music, GPS, and myriad fitness apps, is a great workout partner, once you solve the problem of where to keep it while you're working up a sweat. This velcro-free armband won't snag your fancy performance wear. A thick neoprene backing stretches around your case-less iPhone 5, and small openings at the bottom let you access the headphone jack and Lightning port. The leather-like exterior has contrast stitching, a reflective strip, and venting holes, and the clear plastic panel lets you use your touchscreen effectively, even though it's less responsive than touching the screen directly.

We didn't have a problem with sweat reaching the phone, and since it's sealed up from the outside, brief rain showers aren't a big concern either. Griffin says it'll fit arms 19 inches and up—it was comfortable on our 12-inch bicep, but if you have massive guns you might need to keep it on your forearm.

The bottom line
. For a low-priced workout accessory, the Trainer for iPhone 5 is at the top of its game.

iPhone 5 or fifth-gen iPod touch (versions for iPhone 4, fourth-gen iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod classic also available for $19.99 each)

Neoprene blocks sweat, and arm stays relatively cool.

We'd love an extra little pocket on the outside for a house key.
