Student iPod Deal
Students, faculty, and staff members eligible for the Apple education discount, now have a little extra incentive to purchase a Mac.
With the purchase of an eligible Mac, you can add an 8GB iPod touch or 8GB iPod nano to the order and get a rebate for up to $299. All Macs, with the exception of the 17-inch iMac and Mac mini, are eligible for the discount. The offer begins today and rebates must be submitted by October 15, 2008.
To clarify, any qualifying Mac is eligible for the iPod touch. Customers can choose to take lower priced iPod nano as their rebated device, but we recommend the iPod touch to take advantage of the upcoming iTunes App Store.

Reading through the 'fine details' you could also get $299 off the other two ipod touches. So for those that are doing the math, as a student/staff/faculty of a college/university you can get up to $300 of an ipod, and roughly 10% off a mac. For me, that will be roughly $500 when I buy the mac book pro and ipod touch. Question is, how long should I wait for a new ipod touch to come out, and a new mac book pro (nehalem) to come out?

Buy the newest laptop Apple sells on June 10th, the day after the WWDC keynote. If they don't announce anything new on the 9th then chances are it'll be a while until the next update.
