Tag, caption, and upload your photos to Facebook right from iPhoto
One of my favorite features of Leopard is that we can now select photos from our iPhoto Library directly from any open dialog box. But Facebook doesn’t support this. Whenever I want to upload photos to Facebook, I have to export them from iPhoto to my Desktop first.
If you use Facebook’s website to upload your photos, the Java-based uploading tool can’t see your iPhoto Library, so yes, you would have to export your photos first. But there’s a much easier way: Just download and install Facebook Exporter for iPhoto (free). This plug-in lets iPhoto communicate with Facebook directly. You can create new Facebook albums, tag photos, add captions, and upload multiple photos all in one fell swoop to your Facebook account.
Once you download and install Facebook Exporter for iPhoto, select the photos you want to upload in iPhoto and choose File > Export (in iPhoto ’08) or Share > Export (in iPhoto ’06). Click the Login button and follow the prompts to log in. From there, the interface is self-explanatory--select the photos in the left sidebar, tag them, and add captions, then click the Export button. After the export is complete, your final step is to visit Facebook in your Web browser and approve the photos you just uploaded.
