Video: 17-inch 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro First Look
Posted 06/20/2007 at 1:05:16pm | by Roman Loyola

We recently received a new 17-inch Santa Rosa-based MacBook Pro. It has a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor 4GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive.

In the video, we take a quick look at the MacBook Pro. Specifically, the model we have has a glossy screen (you can choose between a matte or glossy screen), and it also has the $100 option for the 1,920-by-1,200 pixel resolution. The base $2,799 has a native resolution of 1,680-by-1,050 pixels.

We have a full review with benchmarks coming soon.

REQUIREMENTS: QuickTime 7 or later to watch the video.

You can also download compressed versions of this video. After you download any of these three versions, just double-click it to uncompress it:

> Podcast: iPod video format (25.2MB)

> QuickTime: High-resolution QuickTime movie (40.1MB)

> AppleTV: High-resolution AppleTV movie (75.2MB)

avatarKeep the video reviews

Keep the video reviews coming. I need to see this stuff. I also need to know which are new features, and which are just features that Roman really likes. Also, I think Roman should wear a Chef's hat when handling the cafeteria tray.

avatarGood points

Thanks for the feedback, Bloopy. And you make a very good point: I'll try to remember to distinguish between new features (facts) and my opinions. Unfortunately, I have a big head (literally), so finding a chef's hat in my size is somewhat difficult ;-)

Nice review,

I think it would be awesome to get the podcast video reviews in the feed from iTunes. I like watching that kind of stuff on my TV with my Apple TV.
