Video: A Half-Price Alternative to iPhone Headphone Jack Adapters
Posted 08/10/2007 at 11:55:00am | by Roman Loyola

Belkin and Griffin Technology both make great headphone jack adapters for the iPhone, but they cost around $10 each. Roman discovered that you can use the headphone jack adapter that comes with the 1G iPod shuffle Sport Case (available on eBay for just 99 cents!) instead. Check it out in this short Mac|Life tip video.

avatarNot as elegant as the Belkin one??

Roman, what in the world is "elegant" about that plastic dagger that Belkin sells? That thing is huge and ugly and likely to break the headphone jack of the iPhone if bumped, due to leverage. The white one you showed is a much better solution all around. Granted, it's a shame that Apple is making us jump through hoops like this at all but $5 for an *elegant* solution isn't all that bad.

avatarUngrateful readers

Doesn't the fact that Roman showed you this "trick" in the first place tell you he prefers the other jack over the Belkin one? What is with you people, nitpicking over a little "elegant" comment? Sheesh. Seems like people here are always looking for a reason to slay the editors. It's no one they don't comment in here.
