Wow, was this just a way for Sam to expense a trip to Italy? Can someone give the guy cuecards to read?
"Now, when you travel, what's great? It's music." Huh? And he rambles most of the time. Is he a MacLife editor? I've never seen his name before.

My ipod already gets about 8 hours of play at least, did he mean additional hours? And he didn't even go over carrying cases which is very important when traveling. THere are a lot out there, and plenty don't help your ipod stay safe from damage or theft. Personally I'd say you get better and nicer speakers if you just buy a computer speaker set (like a 2- speaker Bose system) or the iHome. Though radioshack sells this really nice dockable speaker for ipod that is made to look like a retro boombox and can be loaded with C batteries. And it's only $150-170.
