Perhaps RIM was just feeling a wee left out of the Beatles love from this morning. They have released a new video with a side-by-side video between their upcoming PlayBook tablet and the iPad.
The video below tries to make a comparison showing that the PlayBook can load pages faster than the iPad, and also has full Flash capabilities.
As Business Insider points out, web browsing is the number one use for the iPad, so chalk one up for RIM in emphasizing that feature. See below and make the call yourself!
The iPad has set the standard for the tablet category. I ve had a chance to play around with the Galaxy tab by Samsung. After toying with the Galaxy Tab for about thrifty minutes. I came to realize that Steve Jobs was right about a seven inch tab being inadaquate. The Playbook by RIM is also a seven inch tab which to me would make it inadequate also. Honestly I am not impressed with this video. Companies like RIM and Samsung don t have a choice, but to try and create a better product than Apple because if they don t Apple will take over their niche market. Why because Apple is leading and not following. After all I have my iPad in my hands typing this comment. Where's the playbook. It s still a work in progress. Apple didn't have a tab to compare to when the iPad came out, because there wasn't one. Because RIM has placed an iPad next to their playbook should tell you something. Apple has set the standard.

Let me see how this device stacks up after the iOS 4.2 update for the iPad comes out. I notice they didn't compare their device to the iPhone's performance (which currently has the updated OS). Also, those Flash pages aren't as much of an issue now that the Sky Fire browser has been released.
