A Visit to the Apple Mothership Store in Cupertino

Summer's almost over, but there may be a few of you who plan to visit the lovely San Francisco Bay Area on vacation. Serious Apple fans are probably thinking about visiting Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, CA, which is about 45 minutes south of San Francisco. Apple doesn't do tours of its campus, however. All you can really do is take pictures of the outside, or maybe drive around in the parking lot and play, "Guess which Benz belongs to Steve." (Sadly, the once popular Apple Icon Garden no longer exists.)
You can, however, visit the Apple Company Store. Like your local Apple Store, The Company Store sells hardware, software, and Mac accessories. There's no Genius Bar or workshops, but The Company Store is basically a gift shop, and that means it has Apple logo clothing and knickknacks you won't find at your local Apple Store.
The Company Store is at the end of Infinite Loop.
The Company Store is open to the public and it keeps banker's hours.

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can help me out, I recently travelled to mac world 08 and also went to cupertino to visit the mothership, I purchased a couple of items and also a Apple logo cap, I didnt take the hat off till we went to a restaurant later and I accidently left it there walked out the door realised it was gone, walked back in and someone had stolen it. Now im not asking for charity but if someone while visiting the store can grab a hat for me and post it to me I would be sincerely grateful. I live in Australia so its pretty hard to drop in one afternoon and grab a replacement. can anyone please contact me at dcoupe@mac.com if they are going to the Apple store in Cupertino in the future. Thanks Heaps

Hey Dave,
I might be going to the store in the future, but no promises.
Was just wondering if there are like staff discounts at the store.
Are there such discounts? Cos I don't want to bring like a ridiculous amount of cash there just to buy a Macbook...

It could be quite possible, for those of you who are out-of-the-loop (no pun intented.... well, what the hell, yeah it was!)that Infinite Loop could quite possibly be, by some freak-of-nature chance, the name of the street that the company store resides on. Or, maby not....

Is it possible to purchase like Apple iMacs or iPods at the headquarters?
Seems to me that I cannot find any information as to whether this is possible.

Good thing I live far away from the mother ship or my finances would come to a quick and finite end.

I would love to go there someday but living on the opposite coast makes it a little difficult. So how much do they charge for a shirt, for example? Is there any list online of everything they sell at the store? Apple would make a killing if they started selling this stuff online, but then I guess it wouldn't be as cool.

Nice. I was just there two weeks ago. I picked up a dorky "i visited the mothership" t-shirt and a coffee mug.
i'm actually wearing the shirt and drinking coffee out of the mug as i type this.
one thing i found interesting, when i was there, there was no iphone on display.

Roman said, "The Company Store is at the end of Infinite Loop."

You may not see Steve Jobs at the store, but when I visited last June, Phil Schiller walked in with a bunch of other suits and was showing them the company store. So you never know who you might see next...
