Comment Contest: WD TV -- Media Maven
Posted 10/14/2009 at 5:28:41pm | by Ray Aguilera

wd

You’ve got tons of music, movies and other media files stuffed in your Mac, right? Watching The Office from your laptop is fine and dandy, but sometimes you just want to kick back on the couch and watch stuff on a real TV. Which is why we’re hooking you up with a WDTV from Western Digital.

We love the WDTV for its simplicity, and reliability. You can use it to pipe music, photos, & video files to your entertainment center, without any complicated setup. Just plug it in and go. And since it uses pretty much any standard USB hard drive for storage, there’s no limit to the amount of media you can keep hanging around. Even better, the WDTV supports full 1080p output, so you can watch HD content at full resolution out of the box. And it works with practically any media format imaginable, including OGG and FLAC audio, and a zillion different video formats (OK, maybe not a zillion).

All you have to do is post a comment in this article to win your very own Western Digital WD TV. That's it! The comment can be as long or as short as you like – one word will do!

Our Mac|Life super comment choosing machine will choose a random comment and award one lucky person a WD TV, with a retail value of  $99.99. The odds of winning are determined by the number of eligible entries received. The prize is nontransferable and must be accepted as awarded.

Here are the rules:

- You can only enter once. Commenting more than once will automatically disqualify you from the contest.

- The contest is limited to legal residents of the United States(excluding residents of Puerto Rico). Void where prohibited by law. Entrants must be at least 13 years of age.

- The contest will end at 11:59p.m. PST on October 16, 2009.

- Check out the full official rules below.

So cross your fingers and start your comments.

avatarapple tv

Sounds like a cheep Apple TV... SIGN ME UP!!!

might be particle even if i don't win. But the apple tv supports DRM movies unlike this produce. But this produce does do regular movies. The apple Tv comes with 160 GB, unlike this that comes with nothing. but this can easily be expanded to practically unlimited. unlike the apple tv. which is like pulling teeth to double it's size and cost a pretty penny. but people don't need over 160 GB. (except a few with everything) this doe not have itunes store.

for over a $100 who cares?

quality (apple TV) or price (WD TV)? or win WD TV for free!!!

avatarThe toast! Imagine the toast!

My mind is a flutter with the possibilities... First, I would harness the power of my Mimo usb-monitor by plugging in the WD TV doo-hickey. Then, I would hoist the lot of it over my toaster and ooze solder all over it in a fusion of techno-food-processing goodness. From there, I will stream countless hours of high-definition films of different kinds of bread being toasted into perpetuity!Imagine the gasps of sheer awe as they wonder, "how in the world did he fit all of that jaw-dropping toast footage into one appliance!?!?""Simple..." I will say non-chalantly. "It's a Western Digital."*Smile* *Wink*
