Win! An Alarm Clock Worthy of Your iDevice

Everything but the kitchen sink.
This month we’re giving away the TimeCommand App-Enhanced Audio Alarm Dock for iPod, iPhone and iPad (deep breath). This dock is the dock you always wished you had, and with the complimentary apps, we finally found an alarm clock worthy of our iDevice. Whether you’re displaying a larger than life analog clock from your iPad, or a tiny digital one from your iPod Nano, the TimeCommand will look right at home on your bed stand. And the best part? The TimeCommand provides an outlet on the power supply so you don’t have to decide between your bedside lamp and your new favorite alarm clock.
Just leave a comment about your favorite way to wake up and you'll be automatically entered. But remember, only one entry per person!

While "Rolling in the Deep" was the hit of 2011, I need to find more variety in alarm for 2012.

Waking up to sunshine and singing birds is the best! The next best (when stuck in a hotel or something) is the ringtone on my phone that sings... Good morning! You can't help but smile!

I awaken best to the woman in my life, the purring of the cat, and the light streaming through the trees.

This would be so nice. I just got a new job and have to get up so much earlier than ever before. This would help out a lot.

The ideal wake up is to the smell the smell of fresh coffee wafting through the air, instrumental music slowly raising in volume and my gorgeous wife gently kissing me on the cheek.

I prefer a sound (not music) alarm that gradually increases in volume. I'm not startled awake. Depending on how tired I am, I wake up when the sound reaches a level to penetrate my subconscious.

waking up facing your wife while embracing and exchanging morning breathe is the best thing

I get up at 3:30am every day, for work in another state. I've been using my "Awaken" app that plays 1 random Beatles song from my 'awake' playlist. Most often randomly selected song: "Here Comes the Sun King"...

I use my iHome to play 97.1 fm. I wake up at 6:40 even though I don't get up until 7. It doesn't always wake me up so that's why

I have about 20 presets on my iPhone that I sequence into 15, then 5 minute snooze alarms. After one or two 15 minute ones (which are quiet chimes), the 5 minute snoozes ensure that I actually get up. They are also louder and more annoying alarms, to ensure that I get up. The last ones are the same as my phone ringer, which usually bolts me up out of bed.

I always have to set my alarm for 30 minutes before I actually need to get up - you gotta have time to snooze!

To be honest, I just need to wake up after I sleep. I am starting up my own design company (which requires many nights without sleep). If I am lucky to get sleep, I will turn off my alarm from my phone without even knowing. So any help would be appreciated.

The alarm(s) on my iPhone work great BUT I'd prefer waking to an interesting show on tv to get my eyes open. This would be cool to load a show on my iPad and would probably minimize my use of the snooze button!

I could use something to blast me out of bed. I want to groove to BB King, Stevie Ray, JLo, Beyonce & The Beatles when I open my eyes. That dinky speaker on my IPhone is from hunger!!!!

Having been diagnosed with cancer in March 2010, I'm just glad that I am still here to wake up, whether it be alarms, my husband snoring, my cat meowing, or the light of a new day pouring through my bedroom window....!!!! But I do like the cricket sound effect on my iPhone alarm!

Being deployed in a room full of 12 other people, I've found an iPhone set to vibrate and placed under the pillow makes a Great alarm clock, without ensuring I wake up the rest of the force in the tent with me (Musn't forget to turn to airplane mode though! Terrible headache later if not....)

I like to wake up, take a shower, throw on the coffee.
It'd be a lot easier to wake up if I didn't have to wake to some radio station full of static....

So I'm a pretty sound sleeper and have suffered from sleep apnea in the past year. I now sleep with headgear and a mask. It's so bad that my little dog jumps up on the bed each morning and tries to wake me up to no avail by licking my bald head. On the days that it does jolt me awake, it's actually cute and I love the pup so I don't mind the soggy noggin.
However...my wife of 10 years would much rather an alarm that was less creepy and more soothing to the senses. I can't say I blame her.

I usually wake up to NPR... keeps me informed, plus it's not too blaring... Ideally I'd wake up to the sun, but if I did that, I'd be like 2 hours late for school....

I love getting up when you can smell the fresh brewed coffee (ahh) after 7 hrs of sleep. That wonderful smell drags me out of bed and like a zombie I walk towards the delicious elixir of life. After pouring a cup and slurping back a few sips the electrons and neurons begin to fire. Soon brain and body come online and I look for my iPad. With my cup of joe in hand I begin reading news and email. The brew of the bean and my trusty iPad... no worries. That's the way to wake up!

I've never enjoyed mornings, but they are getting to be less of a bother now that I have a wristband that vibrates when it's time to wake up. No more annoying radio waking everyone else up!

My 12 year old son cannot wake up to his own alarm. Currently he has his alarm set to static (radio stations or built-in alarms sounds don't seem to work) and obnoxiosly loud enough that it wakes me up in the next room-- and he still sleeps through it! Now one voice in my head says, "Maybe a new, very cool alarm clock would be the perfect gift and motivator that will save us both." But the other part of me hears (and you can invision what apparition is whispering in this ear), "But then again, if I had my own iPad-clad alarm clock in my own room, I could instead wake to soothing music (and consequently mask the insanity from the next room over)." So my favorite way to wake up would be knowing I have a better techno-toy (er, -productivity tool) then my kid. Is this cruel and unusual?

Best way to wake up is still breathing to something pleasant but loud enough to wake the dead to the world. This one looks to be pretty slick

The best way to wake up is to the sound of Otis Redding, using mymipad, iPod, iPod touch, or iMac. Anything thing else seems uncivilized.

This dock is the dock I always wished for, did not have an alarm clock by my bedside since my first cell phone in 2000, and will not switch back for any reason. Love the quick, easy and more advanced alarm options on cell phones. Not always remember to plug in, so would love to wake up with fully charged phone every day, plus have an option to see a clock and have a favorite tune playing to get me in the right tune for the rest of the day ☺

Sci-fi usually does the trick for me, after hitting the snooze button 6-7 times.

My favorite way to wake up is the completely natural way, with no assistance. Unfortunately, I don't get that opportunity often, so I have my iPhone alarms set to wake me up with that pesky dog barking at me.

My daily wake up begins with classical music playing on my iPod, followed by a bit of jazz on my iPhone, just in case I didn't get the wake up message, after which I'm greeted by the eager face of my little, white terrier/shitzu, who's sitting by my shoulder and staring at me, waiting for my eyes to open and for me to give his head the first skritch of the day. There is nothing nicer or more certain to start a great day off right.
