Kids by MGMT is the best, and those headphones should finally have enough bass to really listen to the song on headphones

Seems to me pretty much any pair 'a cans can pump out most damn-the-torpedos straight ahead rock & roll. I like a lot of the suggestions I've read so far, but I don't think I need a great pair of headphones to appreciate them.

IMHO, you need something like Pink Floyd, maybe from the 70's/80's, to truly appreciate a fine pair of headphone like this. I think there's STILL stuff in the backgrounds of those tracks I haven't been able to hear yet. Back in the day, Floyd defined the term 'headphone rock'. Picking just one is a tall order, but if I had to limit myself, I'd go with "Brain Damage" which most folk know as 'Dark Side of the Moon'.

A fine, more recent second choice would be Lisa Gerrard & Hans Zimmer's "Elysium / Honor Him / Now We Are Free" from the Gladiator soundtrack.
