Ah, the weekend is fast approaching, but that doesn’t mean the last full week of October won’t bring a harvest of goodies before it winds to a close. Lots of free (and cheap) stuff hit the App Stores today, and we’re all geared up for iTunes Match which is running out of days to launch in “late October”. In the meantime, here’s all the news that’s fit to print for this Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Over the last two weeks we've gotten wind of a bunch of high-quality console games coming to iOS. This week was fairly similar, with console-quality games stealing the show. Hardcore gamers will be giddy to know that the classic console fighting game SoulCalibur is coming to iOS. While more seasoned gamers might be more interested to know that the masters of pinball games (Farsight Studios) are bringing an anthology to iOS soon as well.
Whether you waited in line or at home for the UPS delivery person, the last thing you want to do is sour that wait time by dropping your brand new iPhone 4S to its death. Okay, fine, that was kind of dramatic. But it is still made out of glass and prone to scratches and cracks. Protect it with a case from this week's Best Case Scenario.
I kinda have a thing for bags. I know exactly what I want from them, but it’s so hard to find one that does everything a gadget-hauling nerd like me could wish for. But if I ever get to design my own backpack someday, it’s going to look an awful lot like the Powerbag.
It’s the last full week of October, which also signals the arrival of the long-awaited official Steve Jobs biography and even some silent MacBook Pro updates. But that’s not the only things that are making news today, with Netflix releasing third-quarter results and rumors sparking up about an Apple television once again. Here’s what’s making news for Monday, October 24, 2011.
Over the past few years, Apple has brought us many breakthrough location-based features on both the Mac and iOS devices. The first of these features was Find My iPhone, which allows users to search for their lost or stolen device. The newest services, Find My Friends, lets you keep track of family or friends during outings or other events. With these two features, it’s clear that being able to easily share your location, or track your device, is the way of the future.
Well despite some sad pandas in the financial prediction racket, Apple is hot hot hot. Sure, their last quarter sales were a wee bit lower than expected, but that was merely the collective intake of breath before the new model iPhone debuted. Naturally you wait until the new handset is out and with the iOS device line driving Apple's profitability, who didn't predict this? Apparently Wall Street. Anyway, Apple's hot whether they like it or not and here's some more weekly hotness.
It's fall and it's rainy (especially in our neck of the woods), so you'll be looking for some indoor fun these days. We've got games and music for you, and something to celebrate a little fall classic you might know as the World Series. Save more than just pennies on these apps, with big big price cuts.
Who’s amped up for the weekend?! iPhone 4S early adopters are now celebrating their seven-day anniversary with their new little friend and everyone is geared up for Monday’s debut of the Walter Isaacson authorized bio of Steve Jobs -- but those aren’t the only things making news today. Here’s a look at what’s new for this fine Friday, October 21, 2011.
