Alupen Pro vs. Bamboo Stylus Duo Review

Remember Lloyd Dobler’s classic line, “I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen”? Poor Lloyd. Maybe if Diane Court’s lame parting gift was a pen with integrated iPad stylus, some of that heartbreak would have been ameliorated. But they got back together by the end of the movie, so I guess it’s OK.

    Foursquare 5.0 Review

Checking in to a location within moments of stepping foot through the door has become such a familiar part of the iPhone experience that it's almost instinctual for many users. For me, though, that Foursquare familiarity turned to disinterest some time back, as I stopped caring about the points-based grind and whether or not I was still the virtual mayor of the ratty mini-mart down the block. Foursquare's recent 5.0 version reboot seems an attempt not only to pull back lapsed users, but also expand its reach and compete with myriad other social discovery apps.

I’m no cable-management fanatic, but I still don’t want to have to retrieve fallen MagSafe connectors from under the desk (that’s where dust bunnies have their picnic) or mistakenly grab my husband’s earbuds as I’m running out the door.

Once upon a time, it took piles of heavy rulebooks, a hefty supply of well-sharpened pencils, bags of dice, and a sea of dog-eared paper scraps to enjoy most tabletop RPG sessions. Thankfully, times have changed, and the marvels of modern techno-wizardry make it a lot easier to get the dungeon spelunking underway. Having an iOS device handy at the gaming table is so common these days that some thoughtful folks have whipped up a slew of helpful apps to enhance your dice-rolling fun.

    Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomy Review

When thinking about Leonardo da Vinci, visions of the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper most likely spring to mind, testifying to his sheer artistic genius. But what you may not know is that he was also a gifted scientist well ahead of his time, and spent years perfecting his knowledge of human anatomy. All 268 pages of his anatomical drawings, which had been lost to the world for hundreds of years, are currently on display as part of the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, but if you can’t make the trip to the UK, don’t despair. There’s an even better way to experience Leonardo's genius: with any iPad.

    Circadia Review

Timing is everything in Circadia, an effortlessly elegant puzzler set upon stark black backdrops. Tapping a colored circle emits a circular wave – not to mention a harmonious tone – with the goal to have all such waves reach the white dot at the same moment. It might not look like much in still images, but this iOS original hangs on tight throughout.
