Gizmodo has posted images of iTunes 7.7 and video of iPhone 2.0.

All the fun new stuff is there. App Store icon, Push data feature, content restrictions to keep the kids safe, and the super exciting scientific calculator. Science!

Apple fanatics fervently anticipating next week’s iPhone 3G release should head over to Apple and view the very extensive guided tour, featuring an excruciating half hour account of every touch-screen maneuver possible. The video, most likely intended for iPhone newbies, is probably Steve Job’s way of getting the public excited.

The video thoroughly showcases the iPhone’s “breakthrough,” “amazing,” and “revolutionary” features and clearly emphasizes that the phone is “redefining what’s possible” with a mobile phone. There are sections for every element of the iPhone, including visual voicemail, the new iTunes App Store, and “making the iPhone your own.”

Once again, Bob Borchers, a.k.a. iPhone Guy, narrates the guided tour. Once again , Bob emphasizes how great the iPhone is with large sweeping arm gestures. This time around, he includes a “great picture” of his friend, Chris, as an example of how to add a photo to an existing contact. It's nice to know that Bob has a life outside these videos.

Apple has also posted a “What’s New” video, which basically simplifies the guided tour and includes an explanation of the features specific only to the new iPhone 3G. Current iPhone owners can save some time and watch that one; it’s only ten minutes long and will register the same kind of chill down the spine in anticipation for July 11.

A quick check of my new MobileMe email account, shows that I'm receiving email with xxxxxxx@me.com as the destination.

The smtp.me.com service doesn't seem to be working as of yet, so I just threw in the smtp.mac.com info and whammo, I'm emailing with my swanky new, yet slightly narcissistic, email address.

Since the email account hasn't officially launched, Apple could still take the account offline until the official launch.

According to a nine-page filing, Nicholas Woodhams, who owns an iPod repair shop in Portage, Michigan called iPod Mechanic, profited off of Apple’s good graces.

Woodhams is under fire for allegedly violating a 2006 agreement stating he would change the name of his business so as to abide by Apple’s trademark document concerning the use of “Pod” and “iPod” in products and advertising.

In addition to using the iPod moniker, he is also being charged with taking advantage of Apple’s iPod shuffle repair service. According to the lawsuit, Woodhams would submit a repair claim to Apple, receive a new unit and, instead of shipping the damaged unit to Apple, he would keep the dead player and dispute charges with his credit card company. Woodhams sold the repaired units at a considerable discount, costing Apple over $75,000 according to the suit.

Woodhams is also accused of deceiving Apple into covering the repair of an out-of-warranty iPod by switching the back cases with those of iPods covered by Apple's one-year service agreement.

Apple is seeking triple damages, since all three counts appear to have been done on purpose, including Woodhams' trademark violations.
