Despite the good news regarding Apple’s 2009 Q2 earnings, from $1.45 billion in Q208 to $1.47 billion in Q209, SEC filings reveal that the company has dropped 1,600 employees from it's Apple retail locations.
For those that have the hopes of getting an iPhone on Verizon, you may
want to think again. Tim Cook and Peter Oppenheimer have made it clear
in the company's Q2 financial results conference call that Apple will
most likely not be switching from AT&T for the iPhone.
Apple COO, Tim Cook put the smack down on speculation surrounding a
rumored Apple NetBook device. In the company's Q2 results call, Cook
described the current field of NetBooks as having
"cramped keyboards, terrible software, junky hardware, very small
screens" and "not something we would put the Mac brand on."
