A heartfelt plea for unity
In the course of any and all human endevors there comes a time when we are faced with great pain and are forced to make decisions that affect ourselves and those we love around us. During times of strife we oft will consider to turn away from the things that we see as the root of our suffering. It is one of our most basic instincts to flee from things that make us uncomfortable, and a very powerful instinct it is. In turning away we deny that we were hurt, we pretend not to remember, and we all may hope to forget. However, when we move on in such a way we lose something precious and dear. We will lose our ability to grow with those around us. The history of humanity is filled with tragedies stemming from good people turning their backs on pain, be it theirs or others. Divisions and rifts, barriers and walls can form between any bond held between two people, human banality knows no limits.
Yet in all harsh times there is also that moment of the brilliance of the human potential. When faced with great challenges we also have the ability to rise above them and grind them beneath our will. We all have the strength to face our pain, take it into our being and let it shape us for the betterment of all that we touch. Turning into our problems is something that can be done alone, if one is strong enough the force of that pain will only serve to cement their foundation. However, the support of others, facing the same trouble, allows for all to take a small part of that blow life may deal them. As a community we can only grow stronger by standing together and helping eachother.
All of us must remember that in life there is one pivotal time, upon which all our subsquent actions will be flavored by, a time where we can flee, a time where we can stand, and a time where we can grow. That time - that pivotal time - that our life revolves around is yesterday, today, and tommorrow.

i concur. (couldn't find a way to compare to that flowery prose so i just go for the succinct instead)
Immediately, a large toad leaped into her lap and looked at her as if it wanted to be loved. "Grep," it exclaimed. "Don't mind him," explained the Mad Hacker. He's just looking for some string."

Re: A heartfelt plea for unity
I originally posted this plea to keep people from leaving in a moment of stress. I intentionally left the theme of the post general so that it might act as inspiration under any such time. I was very saddened to see that already a few people are leaving and again I would like to bump this thread and make a heartfelt plea for people to weather the transition before making rash decisions that could lead to turmoil.
No one should underestimate their impact on the guild. You are all equally important to us and the loss of any of you will hurt those that are left behind.
I know there is a movement by some to splinter off selected members from many guilds and from a new guild. Their hope is this will free them from interpersonal problems, and in the short run this is true. They will be separate from those that may have hurt them in the past, but they also risk being separate from those that have giving them strength in the past. Furthermore, any group of people no matter how carefully selected will occasionally run into times of conflict. Hopefully these conflicts are minor and can be forgotten easily, but one should never think that running away from their problems is a solution, for they will inevitably face a problem in their future, and will only spend their lives running away. Spending your hold life running leaves little time for living.
I didn't know all of you when I joined, but I quickly became impressed at the shear number of quality individuals in this guild. I have played MMORPGs for many years and have been a leader in almost all and I have to say what you have is extreamly rare. For a guild of this size to have such a wonderful group of players is really the exception. The more players a guild includes the more opportunaties there are for conflict, but all of you have done such a wonderful job of minimizing these conflict. In this guild there is not one member that I would refer to as only "guildie," but I would refer to you all as friends, and very good friends as well.
So, please let our freindship give us strength in times where it is tempting to run and forget.

Heh, I just don't know if me being an officer is productive or not.
Anyway, yeah think things over and don't make any decisions without sleeping on it.
