Difference between Flash MX and Director MX

I am just getting started with using Director.  What is the difference between it and Flash?

Hmmm...  should know this. Isn't Director for Shockwave, not Flash? Look on macromedia.com...

Re: Difference between Flash MX and Director MX

Director creates application interfaces; think the original MacAddict CD's.  It's commonly used on promotional CD's and such.  Flash is for the web and less complex.
