Re: Who's your cell provider, and are you happy???
I just got my first cell phone today, just for emergencies now that I'm driving. I don't like phones much period, so it will be off unless I absolutely need it. It's a Nokia Shorty, $20 prepaid Virgin Mobile which uses the Sprint network. No long term contracts with them, so I went with as modest a plan as I could get so time will tell if it suffices. If it doesn't, I can just get the $30 cards or switch to Verizon Familyshare.

Re: Who's your cell provider, and are you happy???
Cingular prepaid. $50/mo. for 400 anytime minutes, and unlimited nights & weekends.
A tad expensive for what I get, but prepay customers get shafted by all the wireless carriers.
Almost every time I try to make a call, I get "call failed" on the phone, no matter where I am.
I'm not very happy with them. Since I'm not bound to a contract, I may just go back to Virgin Mobile. I use a cell phone so little, the Virgin prepay is a better fit for me.

Re: Who's your cell provider, and are you happy???
Sprint. I have the fair and flexible plan. I also get a 15% discount because our company has an affiliation with them (I also get my 7pm night and weekends free due to this affiliation. it rocks having a national account with them
). Also, since Nextel and Sprint have merged, Sprint customers will be getting some good Nextel advantages:
All Fair and Flexible subscribers will get, at the beginning of September, all their incoming calls for free. Talk about a great deal! You have to call to get it set up, but it will definitely take the edge off the bills.
My plan starts at $35/mo for 300 minutes and can go up to 45 depending if I use 500 minutes.
I also just got a new Vision phone. My other phone finally had it. I love it and I am very willing to pay the extra for the Vision service.

Cingular. Some dropped signals. Price is good for us, although we don't do anything fancy with our cell service so far.

AT&T Wireless (which I guess is Cingular now). They have the best call quality in the area.

I have T-Mobile. It is great as long as you stay in populated areas.

Re: Who's your cell provider, and are you happy???
We have Cingular, the family plan. My husband drives a truck so he uses it more than anybody, although my kids get their use out of it. I like primarily because I can always reach them (provided they didn't forget their phone!) But I never use mine, I work in an office which is about 3 miles from where I live. Personally, I hate paying that bill. I can never figure it out. We don't do anything different, yet it can flucuate by $20-30 from month to month! Also, my daughter did used to have the Internet on it for an additional $9.99/per month. But a few months ago we receive this crazy bill for almost $400!!! It's usually $130/160! Anyway, we look at it and ALL the calls were from the Internet! Or messages, rather...for a 24hour period it showed her phone as receiving a message EVERY minute, and on some a few messages within the same minute. But there were no text messages, couldn't find anything like that anywhere! Plus to make it even worse, she wasn't even home and the phone was sitting in my nightstand drawer. We call Cingular, thinking that SOMETHING must be off! They said no, pretty much shut up and pay your bill. So we canceled the Internet service on ALL of them, cannot send or receive text messages or connect to the Internet.
We still have a year to go on our contract, but will probably then switch to Verizon, that's who we have our landline through, and we just started using their DSL service and Direct TV. So we'll get a discount that way, plus an additional 15% because they offer it through my work.
Never have a problem with connection or signals or anything like that, though. But pretty much everybody I know now uses Verizon...and they don't usually have a problem either.

Re: Who's your cell provider, and are you happy???
I am with Blue Cingular (former AT&T Wireless) include 45 minutes for local, 300 Text-message send, unlimited incoming text-message and unlimited mMode data for internet and e-mail.
It work great with my Nokia 6822 via bluetooth as network modem on my PowerBook. Love it.
Right now, I am write letter to Cingular with my sister (good, she is english and lawyer) as I hope to get closer deal to T-Mobile's rate plan on Danger Sidekick which current offer $29.99 for 999 Sent/received message, unlimited data and 0 minutes. I dislike this because of lack coverage and no bluetooth (no fun). Oh yeah, did I mention I am hearing impaired? That's why I have no interest on minutes. I only want to use text-message which is reason and very helpful to reach anyone who carry cell phone that accept text-message than rather use e-mail. And I want unlimited data because I want to use my mobile phone as network modem anywhere with my laptop.
Reason I use for iChat most of time. That's right! Most hearing impaired are use AOL Instant Message to talk each other instead voice. woohooaooo...
Oh yeah, I have problem with Cingular after AT&T Wireless merger them. They charge me $400+ as they forget to add unlimited mMode data. At least, I got lot of credit back into normal normal daily bill... I am think about move to Cingular once I send letter to see if thing work out for me. yada yada
Please research before you decide to shoot me.

LOOK for motorcyclists. So often you will hear that a driver "never saw" the motorcyclist that they hit. As surprising as it may seem that you wouldn't see a vehicle, even if you looked right at it, a surprising study by Dr. Arien Mack shows that it is a real phenomenon.
