North Korea in the news..again

"North Korea has an untested ballistic missile capable of hitting the United States, top U.S. intelligence officials said Wednesday."

Re: North Korea in the news..again
Wow. And I thought we'd lose the west coast to an earthquake, this might just change that. I wonder what our fearless leader will do about this little dilemma.

My guess is that he'll threaten them.

Re: North Korea in the news..again
Tensions have mounted on the Korean peninsula since last October when the United States said North Korea admitted to secretly pursuing a nuclear weapons program in violation of a 1994 deal.
Or maybe the sam thing Clinton did. Nothing.

Now, let's be fair. Clinton gave them nuclear fuel for their reactors. Isn't it pretty easy to refine that stuff to make a weapon though?

Clinton didn't give them nuclear anything. He promised to build a light-water reactor, which can't produce weapons-grade materials, to produce electricity. But ground was never even broken on that project. In the meantime, the US promised to provide fuel oil and grain, but was a bit lazy about keeping to that commitment.
No way would anyone give NK nuclear material. C'mon, think.

So either China gave it to them or the Soviets.
Still, why hasn't China fed their little growling doggie?

Except Pakistan. Besides, NK is sitting on a nice uranium deposit. Not to mention NK was violating that agreement from the start.

So if no one would give NK fuel, why would they want the reactors?
If you believe This guy and the science behind it, you will note that these light water reactors generate Plutonium that is not the best for weapons, but more than adequate. Granted, Clinton's plan was to remove their nuclear waste, but it looks a bit counter-productive to me.
What is it that I am supposed to "c'mon think" about?

Considering that George Bush loves to ignore the west coast, i don't think this will factor into his plans yet

Hell, we should give the North Koreans the coordinates for Berkeley.

You said Clinton gave North Korea nuclear fuel for their reactors. He didn't. He offered to build different reactors and operate them under strict international supervision to prevent them from building nuclear weapons. I have enough faith in America to believe tha no US president, no matter how much people hate him, would give nuclear weapons technology to one of its most truculent and dangerous foes. Hate Clinton if you wish, but it doesn't seem reasonable to accuse him of proliferating nuclear weapons (materials).

I don't hate Clinton at all. I'm just pointing out that his policy that puts a light water reactor on Korean soil that generates weapon fuel is a pretty stupid maneuver. Get as semantic about it as you'd like.

Hey ru, what do ya know. We agree on something.
Well except for the part about not hating Clinton.

I think I agree with just about everybody on at least one issue. Of course, that means that I disagree with everybody too.

It just keeps getting better and better. Didnt Nostradamus say something about an anti-christ rising in Asia and leading to a world-wide conflict/armaggeddon? Which one: Saddam o Kim? Take your pick.

Right. Forgot to mention him. My money is on Kim though. He is just as crazy as Osama and has many many more dangerous objects in reach to use on the rest of us.

But "Dear Leader" has many more nations around him who would be willing to stamp on him. Not too mention he is an easy target compared to Osammy.
