The Benefits of Folding!
What is Folding@Home?
Most computers rarely, if ever, have all of their performance being used at once. That means that most of your computer's performance is probably just being wasted. Folding@Home uses that left over performance to calculate how proteins fold, and sends the results to medical scientists to help them find cures to Alzheimers disease, Mad Cow disease, and even many cancers.
What this means
Without being slowed down in the slightest, your computer can help find a cure to these diseases. Someday you or someone you love may fall victim to these deadly diseases. Why not let your computer help science find a cure? Interested? Here's how to get started folding.

Re: The Benefits of Folding!
The more computers there are running Folding@Home, the sooner cures to many deadly diseases will be found, and more lives will be saved. I have created several things to make recruiting new members much easier, including this thread, a webpage (which includes a way to easily spread the word via email), and a promotional flyer.

Re: The Benefits of Folding!
When I created The Benefits of Folding!, I intentionally targeted the "average Joe". As a result, it is extremely simplistic.
If you want a more scientific explanation, I recommend reading both the official explanation and our team's explanation.
EDIT: http://www.maclife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=100514 Link to some posts which WERE in this thread. I removed them to clean up a good topic.

I've done another redesign of the promotional flyer.

Re: The Benefits of Folding!
I'm not planning on leaving the team anytime soon, but eventually we will all leave and be replaced by others. When the time comes that I leave, I want "The Benefits of Folding!" to keep on going. I have put an editable version of our promotional flyer online.
The editable version is a 2.9MB layered PDF made in Photoshop Elements 2.0. The "faded" images are faded via opacity, so they are easy to adjust.
I am also putting this on the Folding-Community forums so that each team will have their own promotional flyer. I feel that doing this will make Folding @ Home spread like wildfire.

Re: The Benefits of Folding!
I've modified the web page version to fit in with my new personal web site, and made it a part of the site.
What do you think of it now?
