Everybody in the media seems to be predicting that Jeb is going to be the Republican candidate in 4 years. They say he's smarter than W (that's not so hard to be -- even I'm smarter than W). They say he's more ethical.
Seems to me, just a hunch (no I can't prove it), that such predictions never pan out. I don't think Jeb has a future as anything but senator or governor or homeland security chief (when they can't find anyone for Bernie Kerick's non- job).
As you can see from my recent post quoting the AP, members of the media continue to feel Jeb will be the candidate.
there's really no need for all of this

And what if the unthinkable happens and Cheney is indicted?
Cheney has said he is not interested in pursuing the Republican nomination for president in 2008. So Bush's choice to replace his running mate would tip the president's hand on his preference for 2008. Florida governor and first brother, Jeb Bush?
Here is the post, from page 2.
I'm not sure I follow the logic. If Cheney is indicted and Bush ends his presidency with the low numbers he has now, due to conflict with evangelical activists, it seems to me that Jeb would be tainted. Plamegate may be forgotten by then, or there may be another convenient new branch of the "War on Terror" to get the population scared enough.

Great performance. I suppose I've come to the wrong place for discussion.

Re: Jeb Bush Predictions
MiniThink discussions will be back on track when indictments roll in. Then the media will have something to focus on and so will we (EDIT: not that we don't already, but too many of the talking heads don't have investigative reporters to rely on).

No one's chained you to the keyboard and made you post here.
Have they?
I thought you left for good™ anyway.

11) No Zombie Threads.
- If a topic is worth discussing, it's probably worth starting a new thread with a fresh take on it.
- If you feel that an older topic has something worthwhile in it, feel free to link to the topic, the post, or quote the post.
- A topic should be considered dead if there has been no posting in it for two months or more.
I'd say this fits the bill.
(You people had me laughing my butt off with two pages of zombie images. TWO PAGES?
