Wireless Networking

My old airport base station's given up the ghost after 3 years on constant use. I'm now looking for a new wireless base station(with modem) and would like to look at other products apart from Apple. I only have a dial-up connection but would like a DSL router to future proof my networking for when my telco get around to bringing DSL to my area. Any recommendations would be very welcome.

Thanks in advance
Richard

Re: Wireless Networking

Do you happen to have a laptop still covered under warranty?  You can get the base station replaced for free - I did.  It is covered as an accessory - it doesn't matter of its age, as mine was a graphite station (purchased in 1999) and replaced last year!

I'm still trying to figure out if you're a girl posing as Macboy4139, or a boy posing as a girl, and a bit confused sexually. <shrug> laughinol

Re: Wireless Networking

the new airport base staion with medem, there are few other options that are mainstream and easy to set up. other ideas:

netgear makes routers that connect to modems
http://www.smoothwall.com can be set up to use a modem
set up a mac as a base station
