anyone ever take thier screen off the ibook to change the color
im gonna have my husband do this tomorrow and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how we dont break the screen.
i want my apple to light up pink and i have this crazy idea lol.

I did it on a pismo and dropped in oldschool rainbow apple sticker to make it glow like the original fruit. It wasn't difficult at all. I can't really tell from your semi-sentences but you're not actually going to take the screen off, are you? You just want to get the back off and get at the translucent part. Don't paint it. replace it or overlay it with pink gel filter from a photo shop or whatever sort of see thru color plastic you can find.

thanks i had bought a see through folder that i was gonna cut for a filter and now we have to try to find the exact hex bit to take the damn back screen thingy off ;/ thanks for them links i appreciate it there ;o)

It's most likely that your warranty will be void by doing that, just in case you didn't know/had forgotten.

I was cautious while disassembling my snow iBook (600Mhz, dual usb), and nothing broke.
Take your time and you shouldn't ruin anything.
